When I saw my team’s names up on the screen in front of everyone I was shocked and grateful, my friends and I were so happy we had qualified for TOC and that moment somehow sparked the motivation in me to pursue this competition to the end. To finish what I had started. At the TOC, you’re still going to be doing the same debating, scholars challenge, team writing, and scholars bowl. It is definitely much much harder but because you’re in a team, it’s not so overwhelming. One of the highlights of my TOC was actually one of the tours we got to go on where we visited Harvard and MIT. At the end of the whole competition I ended up getting 5 medals which I’m very grateful for. I think if anyone is considering participating in this competition they should just go for it because the experience you get out of it is incomparable and truly eye-opening.
