The first Virtual Exchange Programme with Yokohama Science Frontier High School (17 August 2021)

The first Virtual Exchange Programme with Yokohama Science Frontier High School was held on 17 August 2021. So, feast your eyes on these memorable photographs and a video.

12 students from KYS, ranging from Form 2 to Form 4, prepared the presentations. Since April 2021, the students have started working on this project. This is the first virtual exchange programme KYS had with another school since the start of the pandemic.

Get blown away by the song “Furusato” sung by the 12 KYS students as part of the presentation in the Virtual Exchange Programme with Yokohama Science Frontier High School. The accompaniment for this video was taken from https://youtu.be/mhypNPFRA84.

Furusato, a Japanese children’s song, composed by Teiichi Okano and the lyrics by Tatsuyuki Takano.

The song is about a person who is working in a distant land, expressing his feelings of nostalgia for his childhood home.

Furusato is included in the Japanese Music textbook.

HOME VILLAGE

The mountain where I chased rabbits

The river where I fished small carps

Dreams of these still surrounds me

The home village that I cannot forget

How are my parents staying now

Are my old friends without trouble

At each rain and at each wind

Cannot help remembering my home village

After fulfilling my aspiration

On someday I must come home

The mountain is blue in my home village

The water is pure in my home village
