15^th Annual Athletics Championship

It was for the 15^th time KYS held its athletics championship this year.  The championship kicked off at 8.30 am with SAC 1 Datuk Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof, the Melaka Police Chief taking the guest of honour’s podium to receive salutation from march past participants and later officiate the opening ceremony. The marching band that led in the march past was from Henry Gurney School, Melaka. About 150 parents joined us to watch a 5 hour intense competition between the houses.

Before the championship day, two pre-championships were held on 31 May and 1 June respectively. All field events and more than half of the total track events were run in those two pre-championship days which saw Rahman House leading.

The results in the fight by the houses for the coveted awards in this championship were announced.

• Overall Champion – Rahman House
• Best House Decoration Award – Hussein House
• Best Marching Performance – Rahman House
• Best Overall Boy Athlete  - Muhammad Hasif bin Yusof (Form 5) – Hussein House
• Best Overall Girl Athlete  - Alya Nadhirah binti Abdul Wahid (Form 5) – Razak House
