Form 1 Registration Day
54 students, comprising of 27 boys and 25 girls enrolled into KYS today. They were selected from among some 2000 applicants who have applied to enter the kolej as new Form 1 students for the year 2010. Truly it will be a memorable day for all of them. Following that, the students underwent an orientation programme which ended on 21 January 2010. We wish them all the best and look forward to provide them with interesting and enriching learning experiences for the next five years.

9th Inter-House Cross Country
The 9th Inter-House Cross Country was our first sport event for the year 2010. Students trained hard to build up their stamina so that they could run to complete the distance – 10 km for boys and 8 km for girls. Only students from Form 2 to Form 5 ran while the new Form 1 students helped around. There were two categories – Category 1 for Form 4 and Form 5 students and Category 2 consisting of Form 2 and Form 3 students. Each house registered 80 students for the competition. Students ran for their houses and points were given to those who completed the run within a given time period. Besides running for their houses, students also find fun and self satisfaction in it. The race started with the Class 2 Boys, then the Class 2 Girls, followed by Class 1 Boys and lastly the Class 1 Girls. The results – Rahman House won gold,  Hussein House, silver and Razak House received the bronze medal.

ASTAR Scrabble Challenge International 2010

Both local and international schools took part in this event which was held in University Malaya. Our 17 students are amateurs in competitive scrabble. This first exposure gave them an insight on how a winning game of scrabble should be played. They picked up lots of tips and tricks along the way. The seasoned players truly amazed our students with their word power and strategy. By the end of the second day, Muhammad Hazim was announced to be in 15th placing.
